Foot & Ankle Specialist, Minimally Invasive Foot SurgeryMario Porciello, DPM is a New Jersey native who was born and raised in the small town of Madison. He completed his undergraduate education at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ where he obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Biology and Life Science Education. He started his career as an AP Biology teacher in Bergen County, NJ, then transitioned to a full-time medical student at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He then completed an intensive, three-year reconstructive foot and ankle surgery residency at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, where he served as chief resident during his final year. During his time as a resident, he was able to operate alongside surgeons in plastic surgery, pediatric orthopedics, and vascular surgery.
Dr. Porciello is well-trained in all aspects of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, from wound care and sports medicine to reconstructive surgery and trauma. He is well versed in ankle fracture management, Achilles tendonitis and Achilles ruptures, and bunion treatment including minimally invasive bunion surgery and Lapidus procedures. His education training directly translates to his patient care where Dr. Porciello takes time to educate patients on their ailments and how we can treat their condition as a team.
During his free time, Dr. Porciello enjoys running, reading, as well as live theater, and comedy shows. He is a huge New York Jets fan. Dr. Porciello and his wife decided to move to Orange County, CA to explore the west coast and enjoy the sun. He appreciates it when patients give recommendations on fun activities in the area!
